Audie settled on her good leg, then gradually put weight on her injured leg. The old bullet wound still ached and the running hadn't helped any. She watched as Asid walked away, then started to gimp toward the barracks, reaching to catch the arm of a soldier who was bleeding from the head.
"Race ya to the medbay," she quipped, changing direction. As they passed Asid and the new man, she nodded briefly, then turned her concentration to helping the injured man and keeping them both upright.

Chan was catching up on his breath as he sprinted back through the gate and to the gateroom.
"Damn. That was not cool." Chan muttered. "We need an all-purpose geek here to explain why the hell a Cylon raider was attacking us, and it'd better not because the producers of Battlestar Galactica hate me."
QUOTE
"What in god's name was that thing?" He asked and drew down the zipper on his vest.
"Cylon Raider. Fighter of the little chrome toaster race of robots that we encountered through that alternate reality mission at the Delta Site way back when you weren't on SG-1 yet." Chan answered. "Not friendly."
A large crowd of SPs came into the room, trying to figure out whether or not their presence was supposed to help or not. A medical team had just wheeled in too, although there wasn't much need for it. It probably wasn't a bad thing to be overprepared though.
He had failed to notice the British officer standing next to him and Colonel Mjolnir, having being intercepted by two airmen who just handed him a stack of papers for some reason he had yet to determine.

Remaining at attention Marlu kept his face as straight as possible while he pondered this development, still awaiting acknowledgement from General Chan.
He turned to see the officer, wearing a RAF Flight Lieutenant's uniform.
"Ah. You must be Flight Lieutenant Marlu Quest, replacement for old Doc Drakath, no?"
Chan said, extending his hand to Quest.
"I read your file, although files usually don't tell you too much except for the fact that someone either has brains, brawn, or the ability to suck up to higher-ups. Anyways, congratulations for being the second British officer to be assigned to SG-1. Let's hope you last longer than the first."

Robert walked over to General Chan and said "Sir, we have a problem. You and Colonel Mjolnir need to be informed of a situation that is growing on the Delta site, do you want us to discuss it in the briefing room?" Rober looked at Danni and then back at the General.
Robert looked at his sholder were it still said he was a Captain as he opened the box with his Major insignias. He took off his two captain ones and took out his Major ones and placed them were the Captain ones used to be.

“Sorry, flight lieutenant. My apologies. Just been an interesting trip” responded the Colonel, wiping his smeared eyes and wincing slightly, as if to emphasise his currently sub-par state.
Was he just stifling a yawn? Either he's really laying it on thick, or everyone here seems to be overworked! I knew that it would be a tough ride, but surely you want teams going off-world to save the planet to be in peak condition?
Full of doubts, Marlu was then momentarily stunned. The colonel who had approached him, and who Marlu assumed was merely (if 'merely' could ever be used to describe someone who leads teams to different planets) the leader of SG-3, turned to give directions to everyone in the room!
“Get cleaned up and to the briefing room,” he spoke to the teams that had just returned through the gate, and then directed the base security teams to stand down, before scrutinising them in an impromptu inspection.
Could that be Colonel Mjolnir?
Marlu had of course, heard of the Colonel, and learnt what he could about the man while reading up on his new teammates. He had apparently overlooked the part where he also was in direct command of SG-3 however. Metaphorically kicking himself, Marlu then crisped up his posture as General Chan finally decided to take note of him.
Marlu had considered the possibility that the General had merely not noticed him, among the furore that was going on. But even if that were the case, he thought it unwise to express any kind of impatience with a two star general. Especially when said General was to be his new boss. His suspicions were confirmed however when Jeff Chan looked at him, and asserted his identity, his identity that he had just reported in with twice.
Unexpectedly, after the salute, the General extended his hand. Some what timidly Quest took it, but fortunately exposed none of his apprehension in the firm shake.
“Yes sir.” Marlu confirmed.

“I hope so sir, unless you use of us as extendible cannon fodder in SG-1.” Marlu replied, taking a gamble based on the Generals attitude so far made a small quip would not be taken the wrong way.
“As for the three options, I'd like to think I'm a little bit of all three sir, but not nearly as excellent as you in any of them I'm sure! In general however, I suppose I'm one of the all-purpose geeks you mentioned”. He continued, repeating the General's phrase that Marlu had heard mentioned earlier.
Then, finally, Quest got the opportunity to meet the person he had most been looking forward to seeing. Robert Thomson, Chief science officer, one of the well known names at the Weapon and Technology Institute, just approached. This was a man with whom he could have very interesting conversations with, a person he looked forward to spending long hours in debate with, and who he expect to spend long hours arguing with as well.
Seeing Thomson replace his rank insignias, Marlu this time was the one to extend his hand.
“Congratulations Major! I'm Flight Lieutenant Marlu Quest, I've read much of your, unclassified, work sir. Colonel Majolnir has just ordered SG-1 and SG-3 to the briefing room. I suppose that includes me, so I suppose I'll see you both there gentlemen.”
Once more standing at attention, Marlu waited to be dismissed.

Robert looked at the Flight Lieutenant and noticed that his rank was of the Royal Air Force. ~Good to see another British officer has joined the SGC, even if he is from the RAF~ Robert thought as he said "Thank you Flight Lieutenant."
"Get your tail up to the briefing room. Thomson, please tell me when you join us there why something out of a TV show was making our lives hell. As usual."
Robert saw Colonel Mjolnir walk over and ask him a question. "Well, there might be a reason for that sir, if you and your team along with SG-1 would come to the briefing room then I could tell you what we have found out so far." Robert said to the Colonel as he walked out the gate room and headed through the control room to get Danni and they headed up to the briefing room with SG-1 and SG-3 following.

Ever since John walked down the ramp he had a headache. And now he was heading down the to infirmary to bug a random nurse for a painkiller.
He turned down corner after corner following the correct line on the floor. Just before he was there his legs gave out and he fell flat on his face.
A medic who was walking by looked out the window of the doors and saw the doctor laying on the ground. He rushed over and tried waking John up. When he was non-responsive he yelled for help.
Nurses ran out with a gurney and wheeled him in. Asid and Audie looked curious as John was parked in the infirmary, with doctors rushing around him.

Once Audie saw the injured soldier to the medbay, she decided that she could make it to the debrief. She was as curious as the next person as to what was going on. Quickly, she washed her hands and face, then ran her damp hands through her hair. Her uniform was still in decent shape, so she just brushed away the excess dirt, then turned and headed for the meeting, still limping a little. As she turned a corner, she noticed Asid ahead of her and trotted to catch up to him.
"Hey, handsome!" She took his hand as she fell in step beside him. "So, what was that thing?"
"Cylon raider. Don't ask me. Tv series nuts." Asid smiled, squeezing her hand. As a gurney passed them, being rushed by several doctors, Asid's smile slipped, watching Doctor Zoer get carted away, an explanation of 'head injury' being shouted by the medics as he was rushed away. "Well that can't be good." His eyes wandered, looking over the other injured personnel.
Glanicng over her shoulder as the gurney passed, Audie frowned. "He was fine..." She couldn't help but feel some responsibilty for anyone she'd been with on a mission. Once the meeting was over, she'd have to go check on him. "What do you mean, TV series? Like Star Trek?"
"Along those lines, yeah. I guess there're realities where the inaccurate geeks from Star Trek get it right..." Asid shrugged wearily. "He'll be fine... he's in the hands of the best doctors. Well, all but one, who's hand is in mine." Asid smiled, trying to cheer her up as they walked.
"Dammit, Asid," Audie quipped, putting on her best Dr. McCoy voice, "I'm a medic, not a doctor!" She laughed and squeezed his hand.
"Better than a bricklayer, otherwise our room'd be shredded." Asid squeezed her hand. "Mm, we'd better hurry." He squeezed her hand. "Shall I carry m'lady to the room, and let her walk in regally?"
"Gimp, I think, is a good word for it." Audie grinned, then shrugged. "I don't want them to think I'm weak or to think that you are giving me special treatment...on duty, of course." Glancing at him, her expression was serious. "They have to know I can do my job, otherwise I may as well start waiting tables at Dennys."
"You can, and they know it." Asid kept walking with her. "We all know it." He squeezed her hand tightly.
"You really think so?" Her smile returned as she looked at him, then chuckled. She was tempted to have him carry her, but it wasn't necessary and it wasn't professional. Even so, she glanced around to see that they were alone, then she kissed him deeply. "I love you, don't ever forget that."
"I love you too." Asid returned her kiss, and smiled, as he began to climb the stairs into the briefing room with her. "Sorry, had to get someone from the infirmary." Asid said this as he took a seat.

“Yes sir, gentlemen.” Marlu replied, before nodding to each of the officers he was with, crisply turning and all but marching away.
Although the second part of the Colonel’s statement was not directed at him, Marlu couldn’t help but consider it himself. Why were the Cylons here?
Thinking back to the mission reports that he head read, while trying to familiarise himself with his new assignment, Flt Lt Quest’s thoughts turned to the Delta site, as he brought to the forefront of his thoughts all the knowledge he had on alternate realities and multiverse theory.
By the time he got to the briefing room he had quite a few thoughts on the matter, but decided to not bring them up unless called upon.
Best at least look like I’m going to be deferring to the base’s chief science officer. There will be plenty of time to contradict him and make a nuisance of myself in the months to come I’m sure.
Being the first to arrive, he took a seat approximately halfway down the table, not sure if he had an assigned place, but knowing not to sit at the head. Straightening his posture, he looked towards the stairs leading down to the gateroom, and waited for the others.
His unvoiced smart-aleck comment meant that he bore a smirking grin when the others arrived.

Robert and Danni walked up the stairs from the control room to the briefing room. Robert had put on his Major insignias and put his old captain ones into the small box. He walked over and pulled the white board to the end of the table were the door to the General Yu's office was. He looked as he saw SG-1 and SG-3 took thier seats around the briefing room table.
"Well shall we begin?" Robert asked as he dimmed the light and the projector turned on and a picture of the delta site from orbit appeared. "When we dialed the Delta site earlier on, Colonel O'Neill told me and Captain Fernandez on a situation at the Delta site. The picture then changed to one of a picute of the rift picked up by the delta site science team. We believe that this rift is inter-universal rift. Parts from alternate universes are being brought here, we could be the hub as that would explain the cylon raider you saw while on your mission."
The lights went back to normal brightness and Robert got a pen for the white board and drew a quick diagram of the rift. "To make it simple, this looks like it could be the hub and parts are being pulled from thier universes to ours through the rift. Colonel O'Neill has requested that SG-1 and SG-3 go to the Delta Site and Starfleet has went to the second highest alert status and is getting ready to tell all ships in the area to be re called to Earth or the Delta site.
